Dasher’s First Show

I have been counting the weeks Dasher has been sound and has shown no signs of lameness. He has reached his eighth week, so I took him to his first show. I know he hasn’t had the same background training as my other dogs have always had before taking the competitor challenge, but I wanted him to experience the busyness of a show day. I took him into an introductory ring for fun and found his poor little brain was too distracted to do much, so it was just a training round. He managed all the exercises and surprised both me and the judge by doing a perfect recall. We both expected him to bomb out of the ring because he was so distracted. However, he made me proud and showed me he could have potential once he comes through the other side of his adolescence. The best thing of all is that Dasher enjoyed the day.
